Once Bitten
Little Kayla came home from daycare yesterday with a light pink human bite mark on her arm. She wanted to ride in a wagon with one of the other kids, however, the kid didn't want her in the wagon so the kid bit her! The teacher told us that as the kid was biting Kayla, Kayla was whacking the kid with her other arm trying to make him/her stop.
Moral of the story: Don't mess with Kayla! She's a tough cookie!
Side note: Hopefully the kid who bit her never lived near Forks, WA. Otherwise we would have bigger issues!

Bumpers..to use or not to use?
There has been a lot of controversy over the use of crib bumpers! Many articles have been written about crib bumpers not being safe and causing suffocation to an infant. So the question is....use a bumper or not? We have always had a crib bumper in Kayla's crib, but this week it has been off....until 4:30am today! Kayla woke up crying at 4:30am because both of her legs had gotten stuck between the crib bars and she couldn't move in her crib. Tim and I both went into her room and freed her legs. Thankfully she fell back asleep ten minutes later.
So I will continue to use the crib bumpers.

29 weeks
I am now 29 weeks along with this pregnancy. At my doctor visit today, my belly measured at 25 weeks. The doctor doesn't seem to concerned since my ultrasound results from two weeks ago measured the baby right on. It seems a little strange to think that in 11 weeks (give or take) we will be a family of 4! Please pray that the baby continues to grow healthy and strong in the final trimester of this pregnacy! Thanks!

Tailgating Fun
Last Saturday, Tim, Kayla and I got decked out in Husky gear and went down to the Univ. of WA campus for the first tailgate party of the football season! We didn't have tickets to the game, but it was really fun to be submersed in the college football party atmosphere! We even met up with a few friends who had been tailgating for the entire day and were generous to offer us dinner! Here's a few photos from the day! (Although, you've probably seen them all if you're on FB.)
The highlight of the day was getting Kayla's photo with Brandon Roy, former Univ. of WA basketball player who now plays for the Portland Trailblazers.

*Note: On Sept. 18, 2010 I will definitely NOT be wearing purple and gold to Husky stadium! Oh, and none of my Husker long sleeve shirts fit over my pregnant tummy right now!

Tiger invasion
Seattle has been invaded by LSU fans. Downtown is swarming with them! The Huskies home opener is against LSU on Saturday. Although the Husky hopefuls are wishing for an upset, it looks quite grim. We just hope the game isn't too bad of a blowout....unless it's the Huskies on top!
College football season is upon us, which means that from now until December, Saturdays at our house will be spent flipping channels between the gazillions of games that will be on.

Date Night!
Date nights for me and Tim seem to be few and far between. In August we've had a few weekend nights of needing a babysitter for Kayla, however, all of these were for events with other people. Last Friday night Tim and I had a date night all to ourselves!!! We went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince at the Pacific Science Center IMAX theater with the free tickets I had scored. Great movie, although one of the scenes is a little too much like Lord of the Rings. Afterwards, we headed to a thai restaurant for dinner. As much as I love my daughter, it was nice to have some quality alone time with my hubby! Thanks to Hamma for babysitting!
*Note: The picture was taken at Brooke's wedding on 8/15/09.
