The Plan

Our Glacier trip is planned! It's 10 days of camping, hiking, backpacking, photography, and fly fishing! Now it's time to prepare....I tried on my hiking pants on Sunday night (the ones where the pant legs can zip off and become shorts), and things were a little tight! I could fit into them 5 years ago, so instead of going out and paying $50 for a new pair, I am now motivated to get back into them! I'm not worried about weight so much, I just need to lose 1 inch in my waist. I figure if I share my goal with all of you, I will be more likely to accomplish it! Here's my plan:

1. Cardio/Weight training for 1 hour at least 3 times per week
2. Take walks during my lunch break at least 3 times per week
3. Carry a backpack while walking (which also will help condition for the backpacking portion of the trip)
4. Drink more water!

Hopefully those pants will be fitting like a glove at the end of June!

Not again...

This afternoon there will be a rally in downtown Seattle for students who are protesting the war. Wouldn't it be nice if the protesters started in the morning and were finished by afternoon? Not the case...rush hour traffic will be tied up even more tonight because this rally doesn't start moving until 2:30p.m. Couldn't they have just joined the anti-war rally that was held last month? I love working downtown, however, on days like today, I am not excited about the commute home!

Diamonds...worth the cost?

After watching this movie over the weekend, I told Tim that I will NEVER ask him to buy me diamonds again. Although it was a fictional story, the conflict did exist in real life. I covered my eyes as people were being executed or having limbs chopped off. Young boys were kidnapped, brainwashed and carried machine guns everywhere they went. It made me so sad. Thank goodness the war has ended. Thank goodness their are organizations reaching out to those wounded.

This was yet another Leonardo Di Caprio movie that I cried at....

I just hope that my wedding ring diamond is conflict free.

Fundraising to cure Parkinson's Disease

Tim is at it again this year! He has joined Team Parkinsons to help raise $$ for the NW Parkinson's Foundation (NWPF) by riding his bike 204 miles from Seattle to Portland. The ride takes place on July 14th - 15th. If you would like to donate to the NWPF, please click here for Tim's fundraising website. We are trying to raising $10,000 this year, which is quite a lofty goal . Donations help with Parkinson's awareness, education and care. Feel free to pass along his website link to your friends and family! Thanks!
